Diet Tips We Can All Use

Here are some of the things that I'm doing: my Three Principles of Healthy Retirement Living. Bottom line, healthy living is about your action, about you putting one foot in front of the other and going forward.

Smoking is the act of inhalation and exhalation of the fumes of burning tobacco. Cigarettes, the most popular method of smoking, consist of finely shredded tobacco rolled in lightweight paper. In the 19 centuries, smoking was not seen as a harmful act, but laboratory and clinical research has since confirmed that tobacco smoke presently is hazardous to health. Smoke from the average cigarette contains around 4,000 chemicals, some of which are highly toxic and at least 43 of which cause cancer. Nicotine, a major constituent of tobacco smoke, is both poisonous and highly addictive.

Set targets and work accordingly: Determine what you want from the workout. Is it weight lose, add muscles or tone your muscle. Once you know this it becomes easier to get it.

Let your plan of quitting smoking made known to your friends and families and also your doctor. Their advice will go a long way in helping you quit smoking; your family doctor will help you develop a good plan for stopping this habit.

And so the first of my Healthy Living Tips for you is: the only person who really knows what's best for you is you! Unfortunately most of us are not encouraged to trust and believe in ourselves. We tend to be very influenced by other people's opinions and many times, we follow advice that does not necessarily feel right. The reason we ignore that feeling is because we are taught to ask for advice and follow it.

When I was in my late forties, I used to joke that I must be approaching my "best before" date! Within just a few short years into my early fifties, I had a succession of health issues. I had been well and healthy all my life, but suddenly the bottom seemed to fall out of my world. I had shingles, then I had gall bladder surgery, then I had a heart attack - two actually, one week apart, later I had a hernia operation, plus I'm coping with the unpronounceable Dupuytren's Contracture, and not to even mention benign prostate enlargement (BPH) or erectile dysfunction (ED). Yes, it's horribly true, I now suffer from Acronyms. I thought my entire body was going to slowly fall apart!

Change is tough. Change is scary. If change were easy, there would not be millions of dollars in books about how to face change being sold. Change in your nutrition Healthy living advice or health is no different than change in other areas of your life. Embracing a new style of eating can Healthy living advice feel uncomfortable and unfamiliar. I know - I have been there and done that myself.

Accept your kind of lifestyle. With your field of work, spending the whole day in front of your computer, you must have time to stand up and do something that is worth moving around for. Try relaxing your mind and do some stretching. Why not try to clean your place without the help of maids or cleaners? Lawn mowing is like relaxing your mind and you will be sweating under the sun for a while. These healthy activities are not just good for your physical being but to your mental being as well. During weekends, try not to slump on your bed or couch. Getting rid of your electronic gadgets for a while is excellent. Although this may be difficult to you but you have to control yourself and be motivated that you are doing this thing for your own good. Balancing your life is crucial.
